حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا أَغْنَى الشُّرَكَاءِ عَنِ الشِّرْكِ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلاً أَشْرَكَ فِيهِ مَعِي غَيْرِي تَرَكْتُهُ وَشِرْكَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

I am the One, One Who does not stand in need of a partner. If anyone does anything in which he associates anyone else with Me, I shall abandon him with one whom he associates with Allah.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَفِظْنَاهُ مِنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رِوَايَةً قَالَ ‏ "‏ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ اسْمًا، مِائَةٌ إِلاَّ وَاحِدًا، لاَ يَحْفَظُهَا أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَهْوَ وَتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوَتْرَ ‏"‏‏.‏

Allah has ninety-nine Names, i.e., one hundred minus one, and whoever believes in their meanings and acts accordingly, will enter Paradise; and Allah is witr (one) and loves 'the witr' (i.e., odd numbers).

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ يُعَذَّبُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ التَّوْحِيدِ فِي النَّارِ حَتَّى يَكُونُوا فِيهَا حُمَمًا ثُمَّ تُدْرِكُهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ فَيُخْرَجُونَ وَيُطْرَحُونَ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ ‏.‏ قَالَ فَيَرُشُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْمَاءَ فَيَنْبُتُونَ كَمَا يَنْبُتُ الْغُثَاءُ فِي حِمَالَةِ السَّيْلِ ثُمَّ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ‏.‏

" Some of the people of Tawhid will be punished in the Fire until they are coals. Then the Mercy (of Allah) will reach them, they will be taken out and tossed at the doors of Paradise." He said: " The people of Paradise will pour water over them, and they will sprout as the debris carried by the flood sprouts, then they will enter Paradise."

Verse 79

إِنّي وَجَّهتُ وَجهِيَ لِلَّذي فَطَرَ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضَ حَنيفًا ۖ وَما أَنا مِنَ المُشرِكينَ

I have turned my face towards the One who originated the heavens and the earth, as a monotheist, and I’m not of the polytheists.”

Verse 1

Verse 73

لَقَد كَفَرَ الَّذينَ قالوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ ثالِثُ ثَلاثَةٍ ۘ وَما مِن إِلـٰهٍ إِلّا إِلـٰهٌ واحِدٌ ۚ وَإِن لَم يَنتَهوا عَمّا يَقولونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا مِنهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ

Those who say, “God is third of three,” are in clear disbelief. There is no god except the One God. If they don’t desist from making such statements, a severe punishment will befall those among them who disbelieve.

Verse 102

ذٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُم ۖ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ ۖ خالِقُ كُلِّ شَيءٍ فَاعبُدوهُ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ وَكيلٌ

Such is God, your Lord. There is no deity except He, the Creator of all things. Worship Him alone, for He is in charge of all things.

Verse 14

Say, “I worship God, dedicating my religion purely to Him.”

Verse 23

هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذي لا إِلـٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ المَلِكُ القُدّوسُ السَّلامُ المُؤمِنُ المُهَيمِنُ العَزيزُ الجَبّارُ المُتَكَبِّرُ ۚ سُبحانَ اللَّهِ عَمّا يُشرِكونَ

He is God, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Sacred, the Source of Peace, the Giver of Faith, the Overseer, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Majestic. Glory be to God, far beyond what they associate with Him.

Verse 135

وَقالوا كونوا هودًا أَو نَصارىٰ تَهتَدوا ۗ قُل بَل مِلَّةَ إِبراهيمَ حَنيفًا ۖ وَما كانَ مِنَ المُشرِكينَ

They say, “Be Jews or Christians, and you will be guided.” Say, “Rather, the faith of Abraham, the Monotheist, and he was not of the polytheists.”

Verse 117

وَمَن يَدعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلـٰهًا آخَرَ لا بُرهانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّما حِسابُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لا يُفلِحُ الكافِرونَ

Whoever invokes, beside God, another god for which he has no proof, then his account rests with his Lord. The unbelievers won’t succeed.

Verse 4

Your God is certainly One.

Verse 62

ذٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُم خالِقُ كُلِّ شَيءٍ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنّىٰ تُؤفَكونَ

That is God, your Lord, the Creator of all things; there is no deity but Him. So how are you deluded?

Verse 98

Your God is the only God, besides whom there is no other god. He encompasses everything in knowledge.

Verse 95

قُل صَدَقَ اللَّهُ ۗ فَاتَّبِعوا مِلَّةَ إِبراهيمَ حَنيفًا وَما كانَ مِنَ المُشرِكينَ

Say, “God speaks the truth. So, follow the religion of Abraham, the monotheist, who was not of those who associated.”

Verse 105

Be upright to the religion of pure monotheism, and never count yourself among the polytheists.

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لِهَارُونَ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ لاَ يَزَالُ النَّاسُ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ حَتَّى يُقَالَ هَذَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا فَلْيَقُلْ آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Men will continue to question one another till this is propounded: Allah created all things but who created Allah? He who found himself confronted with such a situation should say: I affirm my faith in Allah.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Almighty Allah says, 'I am the One Who is most free from want of partners. He who does a thing for the sake of someone else beside Me, I discard him and his polytheism.."[Muslim].

" Say: O unbelievers," (Qur'an, cix.) and" Say: Allah is one" (cxii.).

عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو وَقِيلَ: أَبِي عَمْرَةَ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: "قُلْت: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! قُلْ لِي فِي الْإِسْلَامِ قَوْلًا لَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ أَحَدًا غَيْرَك؛ قَالَ: قُلْ: آمَنْت بِاَللَّهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَقِمْ" . [رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ].

I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about al-Islam which I can ask of no one but you." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Say I believe in Allah — and then be steadfast." [Muslim]
