وَيَقولونَ طاعَةٌ فَإِذا بَرَزوا مِن عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طائِفَةٌ مِنهُم غَيرَ الَّذي تَقولُ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَكتُبُ ما يُبَيِّتونَ ۖ فَأَعرِض عَنهُم وَتَوَكَّل عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ وَكَفىٰ بِاللَّهِ وَكيلًا

They profess obedience. But when they leave your presence, a group among them plans during the night something contrary to what you say. God writes down what they plan by night. Turn away from them then, and rely on God. God is enough as a trustee.

أَفَلا يَتَدَبَّرونَ القُرآنَ ۚ وَلَو كانَ مِن عِندِ غَيرِ اللَّهِ لَوَجَدوا فيهِ اختِلافًا كَثيرًا

Why don’t they contemplate the Quran? Had it been from anyone other than God, they would’ve found many discrepancies in it.

وَإِذا جاءَهُم أَمرٌ مِنَ الأَمنِ أَوِ الخَوفِ أَذاعوا بِهِ ۖ وَلَو رَدّوهُ إِلَى الرَّسولِ وَإِلىٰ أُولِي الأَمرِ مِنهُم لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذينَ يَستَنبِطونَهُ مِنهُم ۗ وَلَولا فَضلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيكُم وَرَحمَتُهُ لَاتَّبَعتُمُ الشَّيطانَ إِلّا قَليلًا

When news of security or fear reaches them, they broadcast it. But if they had referred it to the Messenger and those of authority among them, those who can draw correct conclusions would’ve understood it. Were it not for God’s grace and mercy upon you, you would’ve followed Satan, save a few.

فَقاتِل في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ لا تُكَلَّفُ إِلّا نَفسَكَ ۚ وَحَرِّضِ المُؤمِنينَ ۖ عَسَى اللَّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأسَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا ۚ وَاللَّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأسًا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكيلًا

So, fight in the path of God—you are accountable only for yourself—and rouse the believers. Perhaps God will restrain the might of the unbelievers. God is the strongest in enforcing punishment and the most severe in assault.

مَن يَشفَع شَفاعَةً حَسَنَةً يَكُن لَهُ نَصيبٌ مِنها ۖ وَمَن يَشفَع شَفاعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُن لَهُ كِفلٌ مِنها ۗ وَكانَ اللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ مُقيتًا

Whoever intercedes for good will have a share therein, and whoever intercedes for evil will bear a part of its burden. God oversees everything.

اللَّهُ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ ۚ لَيَجمَعَنَّكُم إِلىٰ يَومِ القِيامَةِ لا رَيبَ فيهِ ۗ وَمَن أَصدَقُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حَديثًا

God—there is no deity but Him. He will gather you on Resurrection Day, about which there is no doubt. And who is more truthful than God in speech?

فَما لَكُم فِي المُنافِقينَ فِئَتَينِ وَاللَّهُ أَركَسَهُم بِما كَسَبوا ۚ أَتُريدونَ أَن تَهدوا مَن أَضَلَّ اللَّهُ ۖ وَمَن يُضلِلِ اللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُ سَبيلًا

Why are you divided over the hypocrites, when God has cast them aside due to their deeds? Do you seek to guide those whom God has led astray? For those whom God misguides, you will find no way for them.

وَدّوا لَو تَكفُرونَ كَما كَفَروا فَتَكونونَ سَواءً ۖ فَلا تَتَّخِذوا مِنهُم أَولِياءَ حَتّىٰ يُهاجِروا في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوا فَخُذوهُم وَاقتُلوهُم حَيثُ وَجَدتُموهُم ۖ وَلا تَتَّخِذوا مِنهُم وَلِيًّا وَلا نَصيرًا

They wish you to disbelieve as they disbelieve, so you become equal. So, take not from among them allies until they emigrate in God’s path. If they turn away, capture and execute them wherever you find them; and take no ally or helper from among them.

إِلَّا الَّذينَ يَصِلونَ إِلىٰ قَومٍ بَينَكُم وَبَينَهُم ميثاقٌ أَو جاءوكُم حَصِرَت صُدورُهُم أَن يُقاتِلوكُم أَو يُقاتِلوا قَومَهُم ۚ وَلَو شاءَ اللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُم عَلَيكُم فَلَقاتَلوكُم ۚ فَإِنِ اعتَزَلوكُم فَلَم يُقاتِلوكُم وَأَلقَوا إِلَيكُمُ السَّلَمَ فَما جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكُم عَلَيهِم سَبيلًا

Except for those who take refuge with a people with whom you have a treaty, or those who come to you, their hearts unwilling to fight you or their people. Had God willed, He could’ve given them power over you, and they would’ve fought you. But if they withdraw from you, don’t fight you, and offer you peace, God gives you no grounds against them.

سَتَجِدونَ آخَرينَ يُريدونَ أَن يَأمَنوكُم وَيَأمَنوا قَومَهُم كُلَّ ما رُدّوا إِلَى الفِتنَةِ أُركِسوا فيها ۚ فَإِن لَم يَعتَزِلوكُم وَيُلقوا إِلَيكُمُ السَّلَمَ وَيَكُفّوا أَيدِيَهُم فَخُذوهُم وَاقتُلوهُم حَيثُ ثَقِفتُموهُم ۚ وَأُولـٰئِكُم جَعَلنا لَكُم عَلَيهِم سُلطانًا مُبينًا

You will find others who seek safety from you and their people. Yet, whenever they are returned to temptation, they fall into it. If they don’t withdraw from you, offer you peace, and restrain their hands, seize and kill them wherever you find them. Against these, We have given you a clear warrant.
