بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ وَيلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.

الَّذي جَمَعَ مالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ

He who gathers wealth and counts it over.

يَحسَبُ أَنَّ مالَهُ أَخلَدَهُ

Thinking that his wealth will eternalize him.

كَلّا ۖ لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الحُطَمَةِ

No indeed! He will be thrust into the Crusher.

وَما أَدراكَ مَا الحُطَمَةُ

And what will make you understand what the Crusher is?

نارُ اللَّهِ الموقَدَةُ

It is the kindled fire of God.

الَّتي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الأَفئِدَةِ

Which leaps up over the hearts.

إِنَّها عَلَيهِم مُؤصَدَةٌ

It will be shut upon them.

في عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ

In extended pillars.
